Nice oven but...

I bought this oven from a senior neighbor who couldn't work with this because of her age. So, for a great price, I bought it. Being an avid cook and baker, I enjoyed the 6 burners and large oven capacity. But the ignitor went out within a year and, as stated by others, the once wonderful racks warped and need force to get them back in. Also, as stated before, the thermostat is always way off. I set 375, but goes to 400. I also bought an oven thermometer. Sorry to think that a brand like Electrolux came out with such a lemon.

I love the appearance of this stove. The 6 burners come in very handy when entertaining. WeÕve run into issues with smelling gas and the oven not always heating (as it should), which has resulted in us calling Electrolux for a service appointment. Thankfully the tech that was dispatched identified the issue and ordered the parts to repair the problem. We are now just waiting for the parts to come in, so our oven is finally working the way it should!! Only other comment is that the serial and model number are in a very difficult place to read spot.. obtaining that number required getting down on my knees, using a flashlight and my cell phone to capture the information! :(

This is not a reliable machine. We bought this range five years ago... in that time, we have had to replace the igniters on the range twice (several hundred dollar each time), the igniter in the over twice (also several hundred dollars each time). When I was a kid we had a cheap Sears range for 20 years and we never had to replace a burner. How is starting a fire something that a $5,000 machine cannot reliably do?Then... tonight, while the over was 420 degrees and we are baking Christmas bread, I go to open the door to the oven and it falls off (see attached photo). Also, the rolling shelves in the oven compartment work for about a year, then the ball bearings in the shelves warp, the shelves don't work, and you end up burning yourself trying to pull on the drawers to get them to move. If you try and skip the rolling drawers, and use the rack shelves instead, the don't slide evenly and are nearly impossible to pull out of the over at any temperature over 400 degrees. Lastly, the knobs wear out after five years and the fake metal covering comes off. When you try and buy new ones to replace them... they cost over $80 a knob. There are seven of them. That is $640 for plastic knobs. You can buy a new stove for that.

I'd give it negative stars if I could.

I have had this stove for some time now. The self cleaning option is terrible. You have to remove the side rack holders to start the self clean. Which of course those screws are hard to get to with even a short screwdriver. And you have to put your whole head and upper body into a gas oven...Mine actually caught fire. Dinner in the oven, time to take it out, door was LOCKED. The locking system for self cleaning engaged. Husband had to pull a hot oven door off its hinges. Called Electrolux, service rep told me NEXT TIME THIS HAPPENS......like this happens often, to pull the stove away from the wall and unplug it. Its not a light stove, is HOT, and on FIRE! They sent someone out to repair the lock and door my hubby removed, now the new door does line up correctly. This was all within a 6 month period. Now ask me about the Electrolux Icon Dishwasher and how I had to replace my entire kitchen...........

We have owned this range for about three months and didnÕt purchase it directly. A contractor that renovated a home that we subsequently bought included it in the package. (We also notice that another reviewer had the same experience of ÒinheritingÓ the range by purchasing a house.)We like the look of the range but, as others have pointed out, it is not easy to keep clean. On top of that, we have burned food for every time we baked. To help solve the problem, we purchased a separate oven thermometer. When we set the oven temperature to 350F, the thermometer showed 500F. When we set it to 200F, the thermometer showed 350F. A 150-degree gap is highly unusual. So, we will see how Electrolux responds, and keep you posted.
