Spiked Strawberry Basil Lemonade

2 cups water
2 cups organic sugar
2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
3-4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
2 tablespoons packed basil
2-3 cups water
2 cups Tito’s Vodka

Make your simple syrup: add 2 cups water and sugar to a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Cook until all sugar has dissolved, and then remove from heat. (Note: if you’d like to amp up the basil flavor, you can steep cup of whole basil leaves in your simple syrup while it’s cooling. Remove basil leaves before using or storing syrup.)

In a blender, combine strawberries, lemon juice, and basil. Blend until smooth. In a large pot, pitcher, or dispenser, combine syrup, strawberry-lemon juice, additional water, and vodka. Stir to combine. Adjust water level to your taste.
